Scientology Volunteer Ministers in India
The Scientology religion is all-denominational and offers its help to people of all cultures. Nowhere is this more apparent than in the work of Scientology Volunteer Ministers whose motto, something CAN be done about it, transcends all ethnic, racial and religious boundaries.
Last winter, in response to the tsunamis in South East Asia, hundreds of Scientology Volunteer Ministers from as far away as England, Africa and the U.S. travelled to India to aide the victims of the disaster. After the immediate clean-up was accomplished, the Volunteer Ministers stayed on to help people overcome the trauma they had experienced, and to train people in how to help one another with the techniques contained in the Scientology Handbook based on the works of L. Ron Hubbard.
To make this help even more broadly available, 19 of the chapters of the Scientology Handbook, the text on which VMs are trained, have been translated into Bengali and a group of VMs are touring through 13 Indian cities this year on the Volunteer Ministers India Goodwill Tour.
In each city, the Goodwill Tour holds seminars and courses in basic skills to train local residents as Volunteer Ministers, so they know how to use this technology to help their community.
